Zhu Ni Shengri Kuaile

Last night Todd jokingly told Cameron he was going to wake him up at 12:01 a.m. and tell him happy birthday. Cameron thought that would be cool. Todd was on a call. When I put Cameron to bed he tried to set his alarm for 12:01. I told him no and he said "But it would be cool".

I told Todd about our conversation and told him if he happens to be awake to wake me up. Well, at 12:04 Todd woke me up. I went into Cameron's room, kissed him on the forehead, and said Happy Birthday. Todd was at the foot of the bed. Cameron was not thrilled to be woke up. He was having a mini freak out. Todd and I both said "This is cool". I laid down with Cameron until he fell asleep again...about 5 minutes. He couldn't figure out why we would wake him up. Uh, you told us to and thought it would be cool. Obviously it wasn't cool and we shouldn't have done it. Lesson learned.

At 6:30 I woke Cameron up. He went to have breakfast and he had pancakes in the shape of a ten. We looked at an email from my parents for Cameron and 4 birthday cards...one from my parents, two from his best friends Brenna and Gavin, and one from Chewy (Brenna and Gavin's dog). He had huge smiles and was pretty excited.
Birthday breakfast.

Todd said "Oh it must have snowed last night". Cameron looked outside and as he raised his hands to Heaven said "It's a birthday miracle". What a goofball. To make the morning even better, he turned on SpongeBob and it was the Christmas special. By 7:02a.m. his day was already complete.
A little snow.

Todd left at 7:00 like he always does. A couple minutes later he was back in the apartment. He said Mr. Xue was using the snow (half an inch)  as an excuse to be late. 10 minutes later he was gone.  We were walking out the door when Stine and her family were in the hallway looking flustered. She asked if we were going to school. Yes. She asked if they could have a ride because their driver just called and said with the snow he couldn't get here. Of course they could ride with us. We all piled in...me, Cameron, Stine, Jakob (husband), and 3 kids (a 2 year old and one year old twins). Full van. I walked Cameron in and I caused quite a stir. I had on Capri sweat pants because I was suppose to be going to the gym. Carmen and Yvonne (principal) started laughing.  I said "it isn't even very cold and its just a little snow". Mr. Li (p.e. teacher) was laughing and high fived me. These people all think I'm nuts. It's pretty funny. I waited for Stine and Jakob to take the kids to their classrooms for about 10 minutes. Back in the van and we dropped Jakob off at work. Ran back to Warner and dropped Stine off. I grabbed Cameron's birthday treats (cookies) and ran them back to school. We forgot them. Crazy morning.

At 10:30 Ileana and I ran over to Jolene's. She was having a jewelry sale. She makes necklaces, key chains, purses, etc. I bought Cameron a book mark and I got a key chain type thing for our apartment key to hook to my purse.

Back home. I made Cameron's birthday cake and wrapped his presents. Ran and picked Cameron up at 3:00. Back home for his Chinese lesson which he wasn't too happy about. He wanted to go outside and play in the snow with his friends. I made a deal with him and asked Britney to leave 15 minutes early. That made him happy. By 4:00 he was fully dressed and out the door. At 5:00 all the kids were back inside. They had a blast outside.

At 6:00 the kids left and we waited for Todd. We couldn't believe he wasn't home. He got sucked into a meeting. He finally arrived around 6:30. I had started the grill so he started grilling the big steaks we got from Anthony at Ashanti's. We let Cameron open his presents. He had 5. He got some Wii games, some Reptangles --turtles that snap (24 Geometry turtles), and a Passport of Culture game. I think the game is going to be very hard. He was pretty happy.
The presents.

Checking out the Reptangles.  They are cool.

We skyped with my parents at 7:00. While chatting with them Cameron opened his present from them.  It was a 3d DS football game. We ate dinner at 7:25, then skyped with Todd's parents at 8:00. When we got off the phone with them we sang to Cameron and had cake. It was 8:30. Cameron got to stay up late.
Reading the card from Grandma and Grandpa.

A 3d DS game.

Big steaks = Big smiles.

Thumbs up for the birthday dinner.

Lighting his own candles.

A big flaming 10.

All in all a great day to turn 10. Hard to believe we have a double digit kid. Happy Birthday Cameron.
