Enjoying donuts before we left for the airport. |
On the shuttle bus to the airport. |
Down to the gate. We loaded the plane and took off. We couldn't wait to see what movies we could watch. Cameron was excited to watch The Expendables 2 and the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I was happy to see The Campaign, Ted, and The Watch. The first two were HUGE let downs. The Campaign was the best of the 3 and still not very good. At least they ate up a lot of time. Cameron watched some Simpsons, too, so he was happy. I watched Diary of a Wimpy Kid and it was the best show I watched on the plane so far. Pretty cute. I decided to watch The Odd Life of Timothy Green. Loved it. The last movie I watched was Run Fatboy Run. It was alright. It reminded me of me and my half marathon peeps who are signed up for the Great Wall Marathon in May. Determination paid off in the movie and I'm sure we will have to have a lot of that too. We might come in last but our goal is to finish.
With about 2 hours left in the flight people started yelling for a doctor or a nurse on board. Whatever was going on was right by one of the bathrooms. We never did find out for sure what happened but Cameron said he looked in the bathroom as he walked by and saw yellow poop or puke all over with black in it. The stewardesses went on with food delivery so the person must have been ok. One of the pilots came back to check out the situation and went right back to the cockpit.
The man sitting next to us asked if we lived in Tanggu. We said TEDA and he said he saw our sweat shirts and figured we lived somewhere near Tanggu. He is friends with Liz and Doug, and Kevin and Rosemary. Gary Baker...seemed like a nice guy.
The flight wasn't too bad. Cameron slept for about 25 minutes is all. It might be a long night once we get home. We shall see.
In USA...yipppeeee. Through Passport control, picked up our luggage, rechecked luggage, and went to Max and Irma's. Cameron had a big plate of French toast. We went to Taco Bell and waited until they opened at 8:00 to get Doritos tacos. They were on Todd's list to try while in America. We went to the lounge until it was time to board for Moline. On the plane and excited to get home.
Cameron fell right asleep. He slept the entire hour. When I woke him up as we were landing he was not a very happy camper. We got off the plane and walked out. Mom and Dad were there to meet us. It was great seeing them. They could tell something was wrong with Cameron immediately. He just needed a minute to wake up. Once he did he was fine. He humped in the car with Grandma and Grandpa. Todd and I went to get the rental car. We went towards home. The home we have not been to since February of 2011. It was a weird feeling.
Cameron walked into the house and went from room to room checking everything up. He ran up to his room and jumped on his bed. The entire time he had a huge smile on his face. He then put his shoes on and ran out to ride Tomahawk...his tire swing. He then jumped on the swing on the swing set. We were all watching out the window. His booty was a little to wide for the plastic swing and it made him fall off. He was hanging by his arms dragging on the ground. He was laughing so hard. He was happy to be home.
We went over to my parents so we could grab our stuff from over there. We mostly just brought clothes. We will get the rest over the summer. When we were packing the stuff over there Cameron's mood changed. He was sad. Sad we weren't staying there. It's tough on him but he is doing a great job of dealing with everything.
Back home. We put things away and hung out. Around 4:30 my parents came to pick us up. We went to Seton to watch Grace cheer at her last Seton basketball game. We were super tired but we wanted to watch Grace. She did a great job. After the game my parents dropped me off at home to pick Todd up. He stayed home to get the Xbox all set up for a surprise for Cameron.
We went over to my parents house to eat chicken and noodles. Yum. After dinner we went back home. Cameron walked in and saw the tv screen with the Xbox on. He asked if it was his. Of course. He was extremely happy. Him and Todd immediately started checking it all out. After playing for awhile we were all tired. We went to bed at 8:30.
