Medieval Times Luncheon

I finished packing and made sure the apartment was ready to be empty for awhile. At 10 I walked over to the nail salon to get a French manicure so my nails would be pretty for Christmas. Yuna said she made it so the polish will stay on the entire time I'm gone. As long as I don't start picking it off like I usually do they should be fine.

Back to the apartment until 11:45. I walked over to Ashanti's to meet Cameron's class. They have been doing a Medieval Times unit and for their knights luncheon they ate at Ashanti.
Here comes the bus.

Walking into the restaurant.

They made their outfits in art class. They had to sew them together. Cameron channeled what Grandma Judy taught him about sewing. It turned out awesome. They also made shields. They had a jousting competition in the gym using pool noodles. What a fun and educational unit.
He made the shirt.

Once they were in the restaurant and seated, Mr. Singer did the knighting. Each student had to kneel in front of him and he put a sword on their shoulder. He then gave them their knight name. Cameron became Sir Fartsalot. How fitting.
Watching everyone becoming knights.

The cutest Knight.

Each student picked their lunch the day before so that Anthony could have everything ready. The food was delivered and the kids ate. We were about to leave when Mr. Singer said they were going to watch the five minute video of their jousting and asked us to stay. We did. He filmed them all but spliced them together to make it short. He also added sound effects...like the sound of horses running in. It reminded me of Monty Python movie we watched. It was so funny. The kids were all giggling. After the video Anthony put on the Gangnam Style song and asked the kids to show him how it is done. ALL of the kids participated. It was hilarious. The best part was listening to the Koreans sing the song. Too funny.

Cameron and I jumped in the van at 1:30. Went across the street to our apartment, ran in, changed, and back out by 1:35. Off to get Todd and head to Beijing. Clear, sunny day so there were no problems getting there.

We arrived about 3:30 to the Hungry Horse Restaurant for dinner. We started with some nachos and played some Foosball. We then ordered dinner and ate. We hit the book store next door. We were surprised to see all books in English. Now we know where to get books if needed.

We stopped at Jenny Lou's to get a couple of donuts for Cameron for breakfast tomorrow. He also found some Pop Tarts he wanted. Back in the van and to the hotel. Checked in, hit the lounge, back to the room for a shower, watched a little tv, then off to bed. 3:40 a.m. was get up time.
