My idea was to flip the puzzle over, put the glue on, and then put the cardboard on. Todd thought we should put glue all over the cardboard and slide the puzzle on. Of course we did it Todd's way. As a test run we tried to slide the puzzle onto the cardboard without glue on it. As we were doing it a couple pieces popped out. We all started yelling directions and Todd dropped the cardboard making the whole bottom of the puzzle break off. We all worked together to fix it. Not a huge problem but we were all mad. This should have been a sign but NOOOOOOOO.
We put glue all over the cardboard. We started to slide the puzzle and about 4 rows in, the puzzle started to fall apart. Lots of yelling. Cameron was filming and said we are going to have to delete it because Todd yelled out a cuss word. We stopped pushing the puzzle and quickly worked to get the pieces off the glue. It was a DISASTER! We had to let the glue dry on the back of the pieces and then we put it all back together again.
This did not work. |
Plan B...Shelly's plan. We got a cardboard box from under our bed. We slid the puzzle on to half, folded the box in half, flipped it, put the puzzle back on the table--upside down like I said to do in the first place. We had paper to put on the back. We put glue on half the paper and then glued it to the puzzle. Put glue on the other half and carefully placed it on the puzzle. We put some weight on it and left it. I hate to say 'I told you so' but...
The puzzle has been flipped and trying it my way. |
When Todd flipped it over we had one piece that slid out of place and was under another piece. Oh shoot. We carefully pulled up the 2 pieces and re glued them. Perfect. A 10 minute project turned into a 2 hour project just trying to get it glued. We put the other 4 layers on and the buildings started to go on.
Glued, layers on, and buildings beginning to be placed. |
When I was doing laundry I cleaned out the dryer vent like I always do. I also cleaned out this spot on the bottom of the dryer. I noticed a button by this so I pushed it. A bottom compartment popped open. OH MY GOODNESS was it FULL of lint. This dryer also has a water compartment I have to empty but if I forget it gets so full that water leaks down the back inside somewhere but it then shuts the dryer off. Someone probably should have told me it was there and it would need to be cleaned. Some of the lint was like cement because it had gotten wet and it wasn't coming off. I got the vacuum and Cameron helped me clean this all out. This is by far the dumbest dryer I have ever encountered. The back is still disgusting but we couldn't get it off. Hopefully it last the 7 more months we are here and then someone else can worry about it.
We warmed up the pizza's we brought from Texas BBQ yesterday for dinner. Todd was going to make Cameron a smoothly so he put the fruit in and poured the yogurt in. All of a sudden the yogurt was all over the counter and inside the bottom of the blender. When I washed it earlier, after making salsa, I didn't put the bottom on the container part because it was drying. Todd didn't know that. Man, we should not have gotten up this morning. Nothing went right. I couldn't wait to go to bed. We watched a show about different kinds of karate moves and then went to bed. Glad this day was over.
