Toys R Us

Friday at the cookie swap we found out there was a Toys R Us in Tianjin.  It opened a couple of weeks ago.  We had to take a road trip.  At 10:00 Rachel and Claudia met us at Warner.  Me, Ileana, and Stine were in my van.  We took two vans in case we bought a lot. 

At 11:00 we were walking into the new Galaxy Mall in Tianjin.  This place is HUGE.  We asked the first worker we saw where TRU was and she had no idea what I was saying.  We saw a lady with a mall map so Ileana asked her where she got it.  She pointed to a kiosk.  We practically ran there we were all so excited.  We finally found out it was on the 5th floor.  We got on the elevator and got off on 5.  We started walking and Claudia said "there it is.  On the right."  Wrong.  It was just a sign.  We were in a spot that was all Lotte Department store.  We found their toy department but it wasn't TRU.  Come to find out we should have walked the other direction off the elevator.

I have seen Dairy Queen, Mango Queen, and now Dairy Fairy ice cream stores.

This is a big mall with big fixtures.

Finally found TRU.  It was a pretty big store.  We each got a cart and started looking around.  The first thing I found was Lego's.  I saw some Cameron would like to have but they were pretty over priced.  I went back to the NERF section next.  The one gun he wants is $40 at home.  Here it was almost $70.  I just couldn't do it.  That was ridiculous. 

Yippeee!

Stine found a bunch of stuff for her kids, Rachel bought a bunch, and Claudia also got stuff.  Ileana bought a box of markers and I bought a little Cars thing for friends of ours.  I spent a whole $3.  We checked out and went to Gap.  Again, over priced.  Rachel found a couple things for her girls.

We headed out to find lunch. We decided to try Pizza Bianca.  We walked around level 4 until we finally found it.  Too bad it was 'coming soon'.  We then decided to go to Starbucks.  Walked around level 1 until we found it.  Again, 'coming soon'.  We found a cafe that Ileana got a chicken wrap at and the rest of us went outside, across from the mall, to McDonald's.  We ate in the van on the way home.  We had to get kids by 3:00 and we got there just in time.

Overall, it was a fun day of shopping.  Happy to have a TRU to go to when we are in a pinch for something.
