Ornaments

At 11:30 Ileana came up so we could make salt dough ornaments for the orphanage. We mixed the flour, salt, and water. We split the dough in half and both kneaded it. We were discussing how Carrie made 48 with the same amount of dough we had. We didn't think there was anyway that was going to happen. We thought she must have used smaller cookie cutters because when we rolled our dough out we only had 11 shapes each. But by the time we picked up the scraps and re-rolled the dough out a few time we ended up having 42 shapes. We had a little dough left but we were out of room on our pans.

I put my two pans in my oven. One was done before Ileana left. The other pan I moved to the top shelf and waited. They took about an hour to harden. I helped Ileana carry all her stuff down and we put her pans in the oven. I went back up to my place.

My ayi was cleaning and all of a sudden I could smell something burning. I checked my oven to make sure I shut it off. I did. Two minutes later there was a knock at my door. I opened it and Ileana was standing there with a tray full of burnt ornaments. I started to laugh. Se said "an hour was too long in my oven". I told her I could smell them and she said "I was sitting trying to shop on Walmart.com and I didn't smell anything". I opened up one of my cupboards and the smell came back. We tell her all the time we can smell what she is cooking but usually it smells good.
The chocolate dough ornaments.

We took a picture of the 11 burnt ones and sent it to Carrie (who is in charge of the orphanage visit). We told her we used chocolate dough. Haha. She thought that was pretty funny. We ended up having 30 ornaments and Carrie had 48. That should be plenty since there are only 12 kids in the Agape Orphanage.
All the good ornaments.

After dinner we watched ParaNorman. In case any of you are thinking about watching it...I wouldn't recommend it. It is pretty dumb. When it was over Todd said "Well, that was ParaSucko". Of course Cameron thought that was funny.
