More Drama

School, gym, and wait for workers...AGAIN. 10 the workers showed up. I will call them dumb, dumber, and dumbest from now on. The plumber changed the PVC and added a tube to the drain. They left. I tried the rinse cycle on washer. Water everywhere again. Called them and they came right back. They were shocked it didn't work. Well hello, there is too much water for the little tube. I had talked to Todd and he told me what needed to be done. I explained it to the girl (dumbest). Her answer for everything is "ok, I understand" when actually she has no clue. My anger was building and I felt like I was becoming rude.

They figured out the PVC pipe needed to be raised so the water could go across the floor. Todd said the same thing. We made the dishwasher drain to test it out. Yep, it worked. Next problem was to hang the PVC. The wall was hollow (or empty as they said) so the nails wouldn't stay. They used wire to rig up the craziest way of hanging something but it seemed to have worked.

The way they hung the PVC pipe.

They went out to the hall to smoke while I tested the rinse cycle on washer. Water came out of PVC onto floor again. I ran to get dumb, dumber, and dumbest. Again they were shocked it didn't work. Again I told them the tube was too small for the amount of water trying to go through. Answer...caulk the top of the holes shut. I told them I still wanted the tube replaced with bigger tubing.

Here is when I about lost it. I told dumbest (so sweet and cute but clueless)...that this has to be fixed today. I have already wasted two days on this. She said she understood. I told her I had to leave at 2:45 to get Cameron. She said he would come back at 3:00. Again I told her I had to leave at 2:45. She said he would be here between 1-3:00. WHAT?  I just agreed. As she was walking out she said if he couldn't find the tubing he would not come back and he would come tomorrow. NO, I want it fixed today was my response. I understand is what she said. Oh boy was I irritated.

I decided to send our agent a message. She sent me a message back saying the worker couldn't find tube but it was ok to use the washer. It shouldn't leak. Of course I jumped up and started the washer. To my surprise it didn't leak. Yay, I can finally do laundry. Who knew I could be so excited about laundry? If it would have leaked Serena was going to be told I was going to the hotel to have them do my laundry and they would get the bill. I'm glad I didn't have to do that.

Grabbed Cameron from school. I had the scare of a lifetime when I pulled up to school. There were 2 cop cars pulled up to the gate with lights on and 10 cops standing at the gate with all the guards. I ran inside and my friend Mette was already asking what was going on. The secretary must have seen the panic on my face because she immediately said everything was fine. She said the cops were with a famous journalist.  Seems like a little bit of over kill. Everyone seemed freaked out a little bit. Maybe the school should have told parents the cops and journalist were coming for a visit.  Could have solved a lot of freaking out.

This doesn't look dramatic but I wish I could have taken the
picture from the front.

Cameron's Chinese tutor was sick so we stopped at the Isetan Mall to check out the grocery store in the basement. This mall opened next door to the other new mall where Papa Johns is. How many high end malls does one little town need? We have 5 now.

We went to the basement and found Q-mart. It wasn't completely finished but Cameron found chips he likes. It had some western things. It was right across from Subway. Nice to have one closer to our apartment. Walked around more and found the big grocery store. It is like the one we go to in Tianjin. It's a little pricey but very convenient. Across from the grocery store is Ann Millers American Pie Company. All the pies looked good. Cameron tried apple. Pretty good. It smelled wonderful.

Chips and pie.  Good trip to the mall.

Delicious apple pie.

Back home so Cameron could play with the Hindman's. He was pretty excited when I told him his Chinese tutor wasn't feeling well and wasn't coming. It snowed all day so they wanted to go outside. The snow here is so weird. It's an odd powdery snow. It looks fake.  It is dirty too.

After dinner Cameron decided to read. He is trying hard to get his book finished. He is kind of tired of it but after 400 pages he has to finish it. I looked over at him in the chair and he was out cold. It was 7:20. Poor kids sleep is still messed up. He showered and laid in bed with me until it was lights out. I let him sleep with me. Such a good mom.

Such a sweet boy.
