Dodge ball and Compliments

I went to school to get Cameron at 3.  He came running over to me and said "Come on Mom, I'm in the dodge ball tournament".   I asked when and he said "Right now.  Come on."  He then asked if I brought him a water.  Ummm, no.  Why would I when I didn't know he was playing dodge ball.  We walked (quickly) over to the gym.  Cameron asked if I could run to the cafeteria to buy water.  Of course.  Ran down and used Cameron's lunch ticket to buy 2 big waters and 1 small water.  Back up to the gym.

Mr. Li got everyone lined up according to their house color.  Once the kids were sitting he proceeded to talk about the rules and I'm not even sure what all else.  I just know it was 30 minutes of talking.  Finally at 3:30 Cameron's red house played against Alfredo and Manuel's white house.  Cameron said his house lost because at the end of the game red had 2 players out and white had 1.  It was all very confusing with some weird rules too.  We watched 2 other teams play.  It's so funny to me when you watch a kid get obviously hit by a ball but they try to say they didn't.

Getting in houses getting ready for the rules.

This was the warm up game.

The real game.  Cameron was getting ready to whip the ball.

As I was sitting their watching the Kindergarten teacher came over to me and sat down next to me.  She said "so do you know Cameron?"  I said "Excuse me?"  She asked me again and I said "Yes, he is my son."  With a big smile on her face and her sweet, soft voice she said "Oh, well then I have to tell you.  He works with one of my students as a reading buddy.  Cameron is so patient and kind with my student.  He doesn't speak English very well and Cameron just knows what he needs."  Then she asked me if he had siblings.  I said no.  She continued to go on about what a great boy Cameron is.  She then went on to say how she can just tell that Cameron will always be a good boy.  She went on to tell me what a great job we have done with Cameron.  I told her we try our best.  I thanked her numerous times during our conversation.  What great compliments.  I love hearing good things about Cameron.
