Leaving Day

Leaving Day. Since Cameron didn't end up staying at my parents we went over for pancakes. He didn't want to miss out on Grandpa's yummy pancakes. After breakfast he played a game with Grandma. Todd and Dad ran the rental car back. We all headed to our house. Todd and Dad took our bed apart, we got everything out of the living room, put stuff away we got out while staying there, and made sure the house was ready for new carpet. Mom vacuumed everything in sight. We went back to their house since there was nothing to do at our house anymore.

Poor kid.  No toys, no blankets, and no pillow.

He looks confortable.

Cameron in his empty room.

Back to my parents for lunch. We also ran to the library to get Cameron a new card so he can check out books on his Kindle. The library ladies were so excited to see him. He use to go there all the time when he was little with the sitter. They couldn't believe how big he was. Cameron asked us how they all knew him. We reminded him and then he said "Oh, yeah". Back home.

Cameron and Grandma played some games. At 2:00 we left for the airport. We said our goodbyes and Mom took a picture because it was the last return trip to China before we move back. I will be back in April briefly but for Cameron that was it. We checked in and put our luggage through the x-ray machine. The TSA people went through 3 out of 6 bags. We thought it would be because of NERF guns but not one word about them. Instead they had to check the Velveeta, Peanut butter and Jelly, and cookie mixes. Pretty funny. Through security and waited to board. Off to Detroit.

Leaving Grandma and Grandpa's.

At the airport.  Ready for a LONG journey.

Went to the lounge in Detroit to wait. We went to the gate and it was chaos. Chinese people have no clue how to wait or do what they are suppose to. It's kind of funny to watch. Just as we were about to board there was an announcement...Todd Wallace please come to the desk. Great, he got an upgrade to business class. On the plane. More chaos with people trying to find seats and get luggage put away. I had some guy from Florida next to me. I thought he was going to chat with me the whole way but thankfully no. It might have been my kind of rudeness after awhile because I was tired of listening to him. One of those guys that thinks he knows everything. Nice but annoying.

Killing time in the lounge on his Kindle.

Finally in the air. We had dinner. I watched a couple movies and then fell asleep. Cameron slept for at least 6 hours. I was so uncomfortable and my booty was killing me but I didn't want to move and wake him up. I was so excited the couple times he repositioned himself so I could too.

Finally in Beijing. It was 12:10 a.m. We had to ride a bus into the airport for some reason from the plane. Through passport control and off to get our luggage. It all came out pretty fast. Walked out, found Mr. Xue waving to us, and loaded up. We finally got to our apartment at 3. Everyone showered. We watched tv until 4 then tried to get some sleep. It was nice to be "home".
