We went to breakfast later than usual (8:30)and what a mistake that was. Lines,
people, no bacon. Needless to say we will not wait that long again. We jumped
on the tram ride to get down to the Segway place at 10. We tried to get on the
10 tour but it was full. We signed up for the 11 tour. We thought Cameron
could do the IFly so we ran over there. They didn't open until 10:30. We
sat out front of IFly so we were first in line. Todd
got Cameron signed up for the 1:30 fly time. I decided not to do it so that
Cameron could have 4 flights instead of 2. He thought that sounded pretty
good.

| Waiting patiently. |
Back over to the Segway place. We got our helmets, elbow pads,
and knee pads. We jumped on a different Segway than we rode
yesterday. This one went faster and was more touchy.
There was an older couple with us on the tour and two guides. We took off down
the road after having a few minutes to practice. We were on the hour long tour. We
rode all the way down to our hotel and Siloso Beach. We drove around on the
beach and took some pictures.

| Todd looks like he is having fun. |
 |
| Driving down the road. |
 |
| Riding around Siloso Beach. |
 |
This was right after Cameron had to jump off the segway
because he turned a corner too sharp. |
We got back on the road and drove all the way back down past the Segway place to a spot on the Island that the tram doesn't even go to . That beach had very few people on it. There wasn't really anything down there. We drove around that beach and took pictures again. Cameron was having fun jumping over little sand bumps.
 |
| On Tanjong Beach they made us get off to rest our legs and feet. |
We started cruising again. We stopped at the last beach. Same thing...drive around and take pictures. We then rode back down to the Segway place. This was a fun tour but the hour went too fast. Segway's are definitely fun to drive
 |
| Palawan Beach. |
We
walked back over to IFly. Cameron decided to get a shake from McDonald's while
he waited. When he was finished we went and waited for his flight time. They
called him in at 12:20. Todd and I got to go in with him.
 |
| The IFly building. |
There was
about 15 people in his group. They first watched a video and then an instructor
talked to them about what to expect, the rules, and the hand signals. Then it
was time to go get suited up.
On the Second floor was the indoor flight
deck. We got to watch the group before Cameron fly. We did indoor skydiving in
Kuala Lumpur so we knew what to expect. It is fun to watch others fly. Some
freak out and some have the funniest looks on their faces.
 |
| Waiting his turn and watching others. |
 |
| The cutest little Iflier. |
It was finally
Cameron's groups turn. They all went in and Cameron was first. He fell right in
and started flying. He had a HUGE smile on his face. They said there was no
picture taking aloud but everyone was doing it and they didn't seem to care so I
did it too. Everyone had there two turns but Cameron paid for 4 turns. Another
couple got 3 turns. The 4th turn the instructor barely touched Cameron and let
him do what he could on his own. Then there was extra time so Cameron got a 5th
turn (which we had to pay for at the end but we said it was ok at the start).
 |
| Cameron flying. |
 |
| Look at that face. |
 |
| So much fun. |
The last turn the instructor flew around with Cameron and had him way
up in the wind tunnel. Again Cameron had a huge smile. When Cameron was done
he said it was fun but he wished he could have flown more by himself.
 |
| Watching the instructor do crazy tricks at the end. |
We
jumped on the tram and went back to the hotel. We grabbed a quick snack and
then jumped in a cab. We went to Garden By The Bay. It basically is a
botanical garden but pretty cool. Outside there are these big "trees". They call them Super Trees. We
walked up steps in one and got out on a walkway. The walkway had great views of
the gardens and of Marina Bay Sands. We walked the overpass to the next "tree".
Back down to the bottom.
 |
| I wonder where we are. |

of the hotel with the pool on it. |

 |
| Another shot of Marina Bay Sands. |
We were walking to the Cloud Dome but saw
another "tree" that had a promotion for drinks on the roof. We decided to check
it out. For $18 per adult and $10 per kid we could go to the roof, take in the
view, and receive one drink. Todd and I both had a beer and Cameron had a
Sprite. A tad on the expensive side but that was ok. The view was great, we got some good
pictures, and Todd enjoyed both beers. It was Heineken and I just couldn't
choke it down.

 |
| This is the Cloud Dome. |
 |
| The awesome architecture of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. |
 |
| Cameron thought we needed to have our picture taken together. |
Back to the ground level again and we hit the Cloud Dome.
This dome was very cool. We took the elevator to the top floor and then walked
on the skywalk that spiraled around each floor. The architecture in this
building was cool.

 |
One of many signs showing the way to the Secret Garden. That
doesn't make it very secret does it? |
 |
| Cameron is about to be eaten. |
After we finished this building we hit the Flower
Dome. Todd thought this building would be better than the first but it wasn't.
This was a bunch of trees and things in a building. Nothing really cool to look
at except the teddy bears and Easter eggs. Cameron thought that was
lame.
 |
| Walking into the Flower Dome. |
 |
| Some of the plants. |
 |
This reminded us of Grandpa Tom riding his horse...although
the horse looked more like a dog. |
 |
| This tree was funky looking. |
We walked over to the Marina Bay Sands. It started raining and as
we got the umbrellas out it started pouring. Luckily we got our umbrellas up in time.
This was the first time all week we got caught in the rain. By the time we got
to the hotel it wasn't raining anymore.
 |
| Our next stop. |
 |
| Thank goodness we had umbrellas. |
 |
| We are going up to the top. |
Up to the 57th floor. We were
not hotel guests so we had to go back down to 1, over to tower 3, pay, then back
up to level 56. This is where the observation deck was. Everyone tried to talk
us out of going up because it had rained. Well guess what? It wasn't raining
and there were only a handful of others up there which makes some of the
Wallace's very happy. Of course we had to get a beer. $12 pure draft.
Needless to say we each had one. Cameron had a $9 smoothie. It was cool being
on top of this hotel. They have an infinity pool which we could only see from
afar. That would have been so cool to be in it.
 |
| We are standing inside Marina Bay Sands. |
 |
Cameron wasn't quite tall enough to get the view of
Garden By The Bay. |
 |
| Here is the view. |

 |
| The top of this building was so cool. |
 |
| Check out the cool soccer filed. |
 |
| The infinity pool was behind us. |
 |
| Cool place to visit. |
Back to the bottom. We walked though the mall at the bottom of Marina Bay Sands looking for a place to eat. We found a Harley store but they didn't have any shirts we liked. We continued on and found a restaurant called Carnivore. It was a Brazillian all you can eat meat restaurant. Oh yeah. The Wallace's were in Heaven. We started out with the salad bar. None of us loaded up our plates there. Then the mean started. The meat guy kept coming back with different types of meat. We definitely got our fill of really good meat. We were finally full and threw in the towel.
 |
| The salad bar. |
 |
| Let the feast begin. |
 |
| Leaving happy and full. |
We found a cab. Back to Sentosa. We quickly changed and went to the pool. We
hung out there until almost 9. It was nice. We went back up to the room and
got ready for bed. Watched a little tv. I checked my school email and guess
what? I found out where I will be teaching in the fall...Wells School teaching
kindergarten. I am pretty excited. Even though I will miss being at Hillcrest,
I am excited for a new challenge with new kids. I also can't wait to be close
to one of my best buddies, Karen. It will be great working with her everyday.
