Wallace's Wonderful Adventure: Fish Spa

A few of us have been talking about going to a fish spa. This is where you put your feet into water where fish are and they eat the "ick" off your feet. I asked Febe, my Chinese instructor, if she knew of a place. She suggested a place in Tainjin. She could get us cheaper tickets. 79 ($13) rmb instead of 158 ($25). Great.

I sent out a message to everyone asking who would like to go. It ended up being Me, Ileana, Stine, Dortha, Megan, Andrea, Claudia, Erica, and Erica's Mom. We met at Warner at 9:30. Mr. Xue had to run get gas first then headed to Tianjin.

We drove forever. Traffic was terrible in places too. I kept getting messages from the other two vans asking where this place was. Finally after one and a half hours we arrived. It was very nice. We put our swim suits on and walked around checking it all out.

Inside they had the fish pool and a round swimming pool looking thing. We saw water slides outside so we went out to check that out. All the pools are hot spring water. We first saw a little kid area with a frog water slide, a little pool, and a spot where water would spray up from the ground. The air was a little chilly but the water was warm. Where the water slides were there was a round pool.

We walked around and there were all kinds of nooks and crannies with round pools of water. Each one was different and was suppose to fix something in your body. One was a milk pool and one was a wine pool. The wine one was bright red. Seemed very odd. None of us got in those.

We did walk in the rock pool. Warm water with rocks on the bottom. It was suppose to feel like you were getting a foot massage. It was kind of weird. We then sat around in a pool that was very hot at first but then felt good. We all had towels around our shoulders so it was pretty nice.

Back inside to try out the fish spa. We all immediately sat down and put our feet in. Well, except Ileana. She was freaking out. Just the thought of putting her feet in freaked her out. She was sweating because she was so freaked. She finally put her heel in. Then one foot. Then both feet for a short period of time. The first fish that nibbled on her she screamed bloody murder. It was hilarious. Needless to say she did not enjoy the fish spa and said she was never doing it again. At least she tried. The rest of us were fine with it.
