Home--Friday

First things first...hair cut! 7:30 a.m. Lynette worked her magic again. I then ran to Wells, my new school, to meet my principal. When I walked in the office I was told he had to go to a breakfast meeting and he wasn't in. Oh shoot. I did meet the Dean though. I also saw my classroom, met the other kindergarten teachers, and chatted with some of the people I knew. My buddy, Karen, walked around with me and filled me in on what I needed to know. I got excited and nervous about going back to work in the Fall.

I ran home and picked up my mom. We ran a bunch of errands. I had to two suit cases that needed to be filled up with goodies to take back to China with me. I also had to find a dress for Grace's confirmation. We went to the mall. While there I figured I might as well stop by Verizon to ask some questions about our phones for when we get back. We then went to JCPenney's. They didn't have much. Everything was sleeveless. And considering it was snowing I didn't think sleeveless would work. I found one dress and decided to try it on. Loved it. Best part...it was $35 and my mom had a 20% off coupon. Bonus. I usually have a hard time buying clothes but today was different. Everything was going right. We were able to find all the things we needed in record time. That freed up some free time for me.

I had to run to the doctor at 1:00 which only took 5 minutes. Another bonus. Picked my mom back up and ran over to my house. We unpacked the suitcases I brought home and then worked to fill them back up with all I bought. When we carried everything into the house we did not think there was any way everything was going to fit in my suitcases. To our surprise it did and I was not over my weight limit.

3:00 I ran to Hillcrest, my old school, to get all my stuff my friend Brandi packed for me. She is in my old room now so I'm sure she was anxious to get it out. We loaded up my parents car and I still had a lot left. Tim, the gym teacher, said he could put the rest in his truck and he would take it to my house. That was sweet. But he told me I had to stop at Git N Go to buy him a beer for helping. I did as I was told.

At my house we unloaded everything and stood around chatting with Tim for awhile. We then headed back to my parents. At 5:15 we picked Grace up and her and I went to confirmation practice. It was suppose to take an hour but luckily it was only 30 minutes. My parents picked us back up and then we picked up Scott, Kelly, and Griffin. We went to Osaka Japanese Hibachi Restaurant for dinner.

They had Tsing Tao beer (what we drink in China) so I had to order one. Nobody else would have one with me. They all had Miller Lite. Later my brother did have a Tsing Tao and he said he would be able to drink that when they come for their visit. Good thing because otherwise it would be Budweiser or Pabst Blue Ribbon.  We ordered and waited for our food. Lots of chattering and laughing. Our chef came with our food and we could tell he was going to be fun.

My Chinese beer.

He asked if we were celebrating anything so we told him Grace's confirmation. Without hesitating he said "oh, so you are finally confirmed. So which are you...a boy or a girl?" Everyone laughed. He then took two eggs and spun them on the grill. He used his spatula to flip one into his pocket and the other into the top of his hat. Grace and Griffin were cracking up.
That is a pretty big fire.

Watching our chef work his magic.

Love the faces.

He cooked all of our food while doing and saying funny things. He then made a huge fire and grabbed this guy toy looking thing off his cart. He said something like "oh, pee pee boy will put out the fire'. As he was saying it he pushed the toys pants down and water sprayed out his wee wee. I thought for sure Griffin was going to wee wee himself laughing so hard.

The chef cut little pieces of egg (made like an omelet) up and through it at each one of us and we were suppose to catch it in our mouths. Scott and I were the only ones who succeeded. He gave Grace an extra turn but instead of catching it with her mouth she used her hands then put it in her mouth. Cheater.
Mom trying to catch her food.  FAIL!

Cheater, Cheater, Pumpkin Eater.

As we were eating the chef grabbed a bottle and asked my mom if she wanted sauce. Before she could even answer he squirted it and it went all over her shirt. The look on my mom's face was hilarious. BUT, it wasn't actual sauce. It was string like...fake. The chef pulled it back and we were all laughing. It still took a few seconds for my mom to realize it was fake. Oh man I wish I would have had the video camera.
Looks like Asian food to me.

My family.  Love them.

Dinner was awesome. We went back to my brothers for awhile then headed home. I was in bed by 11:10 and instantly fell asleep.
