While eating lunch we realized the refrigerator wasn't working. I called Serena, our agent, and she said someone would be over around 2:00 tomorrow. I explained to her that we had hundreds of dollars worth of food that wasn't going to make it. She said someone would be over at 2:00 today.
We walked over to the veggie market to get some fruit. The cost was 59 RMB. Dad wanted to use all his little bills. He kept counting and the girl finally took his money and he only had 56.50. He had to give her a 100. She didn't have change so she had to give it to another girl who went to get change. Everyone was laughing. We finally got the fruit paid for and we ran over to the veggie stall. The man said some amount but all I understood was 6. Dad again whipped out his little bills. He tried to give the man 6 RMB but instead of a 5 he tried a 50 coin bill (it isn't sense but jiao). We laughed again. He finally handed the man 6 but the man kept pointing at my Dads money and saying something. We tried a 1 but no. We tried the 50 jiao and he smiled and said yes. I have never been to the veggie market and had to use coins before. Round it off people.
We walked back home and Serena came alone. She sat in my apartment being nosey for 20 minutes before the worker showed up. He worked what we thought was magic. After an hour and 15 minutes they left with the fridge fixed. Mom ran to get Cameron from school. Dad was the supervisor on the job.

Since Mom was going to get Cameron I went out and explained to Mr. Xue what he needed to do. I told him to go to school, then back to the apartment, and then from 4-6 Cameron had a birthday party. He said no problem. Mom and Cameron walked in the door and my Mom had a big bag from Decathlon. She said Mr. Xue gave it to Cameron for his birthday. Oh no! It isn't Cameron's birthday. He misunderstood our conversation. My Mom said Cameron was confused but still smiled and said thank you. We laughed. Luckily Serena was still over so I could have her explain what happened.
At 3:45 we went out and told Mr. Xue. He laughed and said no problem. We returned the package (which was a nice dart board) to him. We ran Cameron back to school for Herman's birthday party. I then ran to get Todd at work. We went to the SOS clinic so Todd could get his ear checked out. It has still been bothering him. Dr. Wong came right over to talk to me. He asked how Cameron was doing. That was really nice since we had only been there once. Todd got checked out and he had an ear infection. Ear drops and an antibiotic. The doctor decided to let Todd know he was over weight too. Todd was less than impressed since that is not what he was there for. Finally on our way back home.
I dropped Todd off and Mom and I ran back to school to get Cameron. Back home. As we were getting out of the car Mr. Xue told Cameron to take the dart board. We asked if he was sure and he said yes. We felt bad but Cameron was happy. Lucky kid.
We thought we were going to eat and play the new Monopoly game but no. Things went downhill fast. Cameron and Grandma did get to play darts using the blow darts and the new board. Then we realized the fridge was still not working. I called Serena again. She sent the repairman back. He worked and worked. He made terrible smells. He chatted on the phone. Next thing I knew Linda and her husband were here. Linda is our other agent but I had never seen her before. They are really nice. She just called our landlord and told him we needed a new fridge. He agreed and they are buying a new one in the morning.

But while all this was going on we were trying to save our food. Todd packed all the frozen stuff into coolers. Where to put it? I asked Anthony who runs Ashanti restaurant across the street if he had room in his freezers. But before I heard back from him I thought of Will (and Sharla though she is in Canada). They have a deep freezer. I contacted Will and he said no problem but he was at Ashanti for dinner. Kind of funny. He got home at 9 and we ran the coolers over and just put the whole things in his freezer. Will is a life saver.
We also ran all of our stuff from the fridge to Iliana's. Thank God for them too. Always so helpful even when they were on their way to the Renaissance because they had no water again. Just a cruddy night for the Wallace's and Carrasco's. Hopefully things will look up tomorrow for everyone.
Good night.
