Toufa--Hair Cut

Todd and I dropped Cameron off at school and then we headed to Beijing. Todd was going to the airport and I was going to get a haircut.

After dropping Todd off I had 45 minutes before my 11:00 appointment so I hit Jenny Lou's to pick up some groceries. I went to Euro Plaza, hit the bathroom, and walked into West Hair Salon. I was immediately welcomed by 5 smiley Chinese people. Luckily they speak English...some better than others.

I went right to the hair washing chair. I sat down at 10:44. The girl scrubbed, and I mean SCRUBBED, my hair. Not once but twice. I thought that would be it but then came the conditioner. It smelled great. The girl started the massage part. At first it felt good. But then it got to the point where I was thinking 'seriously, stop'. Then it started to hurt. I was ready for her to quit pushing on my head. She started punching my head and then pulled my hair. Not too hard but what is the point of that? Finally she was done. It was 11:18. Oh my gosh. Seriously it should not take that long to wash hair. I like massages and things but in small doses.

In the chair and ready for a cut. I had my phone in my hand so they asked if I had a picture. I told them I had a video that I took after Lynette did my hair in America. The head hair dresser and 3 wanna be's watched it. (In China hair dressers watch for 3 years before getting to cut when learning). One guy asked "where you get that style?". I told him America. He then said "well, it very short". I said "yep, that's how I like it".

The guy cut and cut and cut. I was a little worried. He dried it then cut more. I was happy that he thinned it out which I needed done. A few more snips and finally he was done. I had 4 people staring at me as he put a little wax in and tried to style it. It wasn't how I would do it but it still looked pretty good. I was pretty happy that it turned out.

I left and found my van. I was meeting Sharla at Mexican Kitchen for lunch. Mr. Xue dropped me off and Sharla was waiting for me. Sat down and had a nice lunch. After lunch we stopped in Shindlers Meat Market to get some ground beef and then we were off for TEDA at 1:07.

I sent a message to Ileana to have her pick Cameron up just in case we didn't make it back. Thank goodness I did because the traffic on the 6th ring was terrible. Wall to wall trucks which always makes me nervous. Finally on the open interstate and cruising towards home. We arrived at 3:30.

Cameron, Ryley, Tobias, and Alfredo were playing we so I decided to color my hair. I did a better job this time bit still didn't use the whole bottle. It isn't a professional job by any means of the word but it works. I'm pretty happy with how my hair turned out.  First time in China that I am happy about  my hair.
Pretty good Chinese haircut.  Yay!

Dinner, watched a Chimpanzee documentary move which was good, skyped my parents, then off to bed. Oh and by the way, my entire head feels like it is bruised from all the rubbings and pokings. It hurt to put my head down on my pillow.  Now that is ridiculous.

On a totally different note...we had hamburgers last night that were delicious.  Cameron is completely into eating Pineapple burgers.   Yum!

That is some good looking food.
