The day started off with taking Cameron to school and then going to Yoga. Yoga
is one of those exercises that does not look hard but my goodness it kicks my
rear. Our instructor goes around and makes your body go the way she wants it to
even if your body doesn't want to go that way. Ouch! It always feels good when
we are done.
Hurried home and got ready. Sharla, Rachel, Anna, and I
went to get a Thai foot massage. We had an 11:00 appointment. When we got
there the lady told us we couldn't have a foot massage until the 15th. Huh? For
some reason they were closed until the 15th even though they made our
appointment. Weird. We walked next door to the Blind Foot Massage place. They
took us. As Sharla was turning one of the chairs around, like we always do, she
accidentally knocked the table over. It had a glass and something else that
crashed to the floor and sent glasses flying all over my feet and legs. It
didn't hurt and I was fine just surrounded in glass. We couldn't help but
laugh and Sharla apologized a million times. It was quickly cleaned up and we
were ready to relax. I find the foot part kind of painful, at least
today I did. The shoulder part was heaven. An hour
and 15 minutes later we were done.
Back home for 45 minutes. I finished
packing for Tokyo and then met Sharla out front to walk over and get a manicure.
It was nice. I chose a VERY bright orange so that it would work next weekend
for our 80's party. It took awhile to get use to it because it was stop traffic
bright but then I liked it.

It's even brighter in real life. |
Back home for 15 minutes and then had to run
get Cameron at school. I was waiting and waiting and finally his teacher found
me and told me he was waiting for his homework to get copied. He gets to miss
tomorrow since we will be gone. His teacher asked
when we could get together to discuss Cameron. I had sent him a note asking to
meet to discuss ways he is going to challenge Cameron this year. We decided
Monday at 4:00. Then he looked at me and said
"another thing I find incredible about Cameron is that if there are 3 minutes
left in a period he always finds work to do instead of messing around like the
others. That is an incredible skill to have. He will do great in junior high
and high school.". That was nice and good to hear.
Finally I found
Cameron and we headed to get Todd. We ran into the new office building to go to
the bathroom and then we were on our way to Beijing. Cameron immediately got
all his make up homework done...maybe 15 minutes it took. One funny thing we
saw while driving on the highway
today was a man driving a mini
van, window down, eating a piece of corn on the cob. It looked really
strange.
We tried a new restaurant called The Filling Station. Yep, just
like in Davenport. I had a double bacon cheeseburger and the boys shared a meat
combo platter...ribs, chicken, steak, onion rings, and mushrooms. I also had a
little flavor from home by having a Coors Light. The Filling Station is a good
place to eat. We have to go back because there were numerous things on the menu
we want to try.

I couldn't believe they had Coors Light. |
 |
Cameron went with a peanut butter milk shake. |

The food looked as good as it tasted |
 |
A whole lot of meat and onion rings. |

Nice patio and view. |

Kind of pretty. |
After dinner we went to the hotel. We went to the lounge
for a little bit then went back to our room. Cameron took a shower. I walked
into the bathroom and it was completely flooded. I told Cameron to shut the
water off and he was worried he did something wrong. Nope, door was completely
shut but the drain wasn't working. His clothes were on the floor so they got
drenched. I tried drying them with the hair dryer but it was no use. I'll wrap
them in a bag and let them dry out in Tokyo. What a giant pain in the rear.
Todd messed with the drain and fixed it and he cleaned up the water. The same
thing happened to my parents when they stayed at this Hilton. Off to bed
because we have to get up at 4:00 a.m.
