Water Day

We woke up and saw rain.  Oh Man.  It was water day at Cameron's school.  Last year it was cold and rainy and it looks like this year was going to be the same.  64 degrees and light rain.

We dropped Cameron off at school and went back home.  At 8:35 Cameron called me to ask if I would bring him another shirt because he was going to wear his outside.  No problem.  He told me they were just getting ready to go outside.  Things were suppose to start at 8:45.

Todd and I jumped in the van and arrived at school.  Ileana was just getting there too.  We were the only ones there.  No kids around either.  Finally at 9:05 Cameron's class came out.  Come to find out from 9-10 4th and 5th graders only would be outside.  The powers that be decided to give everyone an hour so the kids didn't get too cold.  Come on.  And thanks for the heads up.  They could have sent out a mass email telling parents of the change.  Luckily for us Cameron's class was still first.

They started at a giant slide into a pool.  They played there for almost 30 minutes.  Cameron was the first one to try it out.  They had fun on it.
Cameron showing them how it is done.
Here he goes again.
Cameron telling me it was kind of lame.
Manuel wanted his picture taken with Cameron.
Cameron had a lot of turns on the slide.

Next was the giant slip and slide.  Mr. Lee poured about a gallon of soap on it so it was really slippery and soapy.  At least the kids got cleaned and smelled good.

Taking a dive.
Sliding.

Last was a dunk tank.  Cameron volunteered to sit on the plank.  The kids through balls until finally someone hit the button and made Cameron fall in.  The look on his face was hilarious.  The water was really cold too.  He ended up doing it 5 times.  It must have been fun.

Listening to instructions.
Mr. Singer waiting for someone to dunk him.
Cameron's turn.
The kids also did the balance beam.  they had to run across while their friends threw wet sponges at them.

Throwing at the girls.
Poor girls got hit a lot.

At 10:00 Mr. Singer took in all the kids that wanted to go in.  The rest could stay out as long as they wanted.  Of course Cameron stayed out.  He was the only one happy it was rainy.  He said at least that way he wasn't hot and sweaty.  Plus he is pretty tough.  A little cold and rain couldn't ruin his fun.

Todd and I ran to the hardware store to get packaging tape.  We then went home.  We had an hour to kill before we had to leave to meet Carrasco's for lunch.  In that hour we went from room to room with the inventory to make sure we had everything listed.  We have to know exactly what we are shipping home.  We got through about 1/2 of the apartment.

At 11:30 we went to Jacky's 2 for lunch.  It was great just being with Ileana and Fredy. Such a nice lunch. We had a few drinks and some good food.  At 2:00 we dropped them back off at school and we went home.  Back to school at 2:45 to get Cameron.  Back home.

Cameron immediately went to play.  He had to get his last few hours of fun with the Hindman's.  The day we have all been dreading was here.  They came in at 5:00 to play.  At 6:00 I heard Ryley say "well, we have to go".  I walked in the wii room.  I tried to thank them for being such good friends but the tears started to flow.  It was everything Cameron had not to cry in front of them.  I couldn't help it.  I told them we would get together once they were back in Iowa.  They all agreed they wanted to do that.  We said goodbye to them and they left.  Luckily Alfedo left too because the tears began to flow from Cameron.  He sat on the couch and just let the tears run down his face.  He looked so sad (Duh, he was so sad).  I sat on the other couch with tears rolling down my face because I felt so bad for him.  He will be fine once the Hindman's are gone and he gets use to it.  Luckily we have our fun Hawaii trip with Grandma and Grandpa Wallace to look forward to starting Friday.  That will help take his mind off his friends.

We had dinner and watched a movie.  Off to bed.
