Best Night EVER--Going Away Party

Since Cameron had a late night (stayed up until 2:30 a.m.) he laid down to watch a movie at 11:00 and we both fell asleep.  It was a great nap.  Just what we both needed.  When he woke up I remembered it was Children's Day in China.  I grabbed Cameron a couple Xbox games for his present.  He didn't play them.  He went out to play instead.

7:00 we took Cameron down to Carrasco's.  He was staying there again while we went to our going away party.  The ayi was staying with all the kids.  We jumped in a cab and went to Jacky's 2...the party place.

Anna and Pollo from Italy, Heidi and Jakob from Denmark, Claudia and Paul from Australia, Ileana and Fredy from Mexico, and Us from U.S.A all planned one big going away party.  We started planning about a month ago and tonight was the night.  Jacky was great to work with.  We had all the food planned out and what time he was suppose to bring what out.  We had beer, pop, and wine all night planned for our friends.  We basically just needed to show up, have a great time, and pay at the end of the night.  My kind of party.

When we arrived at 7:20 there was already eager Beavers ready to party.  Ileana looked at me and said "It is suppose to start at 7:30 right?"  I think she forgot we weren't running on Mexican time. haha  Friends continued to come in, food was on the table, and drinks were flowing nicely.

At 9:30 we decided we needed to give speeches and cut the cake.  Paul talked for him and Claudia first.  I went second.  As soon as I started to talk the tears started flowing.  I wanted to make sure all our friends knew how much we appreciate each one of them.  I made it through.  All Todd said was "cheers".  The rest of the families talked and then the cake was cut.

Trine told me we needed to turn the lights down.  The Danish have a thing for lights being off or down low.  I asked Jacky to turn some off and then that is when the craziness started.  I guess there is something to the lights going down.  The music got cranked up.  There was dancing on the bar, tables, and booths.  There was all kinds of singing.  It was AWESOME.  Next thing I knew I looked at my watch and it was 1:00 a.m. and there was no sign of stopping.

The dancing was continuing on the dance floor.  Some how the glass on the fire extinguisher case got broken.  Paul ran into it or something and it shattered.  Jacky didn't seem to mind.  One of his workers went over with a broom and swept it up and that was that.  More dancing and singing.  There was one song that said some thing about going home.  As we were singing it the tears started flowing again.

At 2:30 we finally decided to wrap things up.  Trine was trying to get us to go to Soho but we declined.  It was already to late to try and go there.  We jumped in a cab and went home.  We walked into Carrasco's to make sure Cameron was sleeping.  He was.  Went up to our apartment and went to bed. 

The most AMAZING night EVER!  LOVE these people in Teda.  We are going to miss them tons.
