Beach Day

Not sure why but I was awake at 6:00 a.m.  I should have slept way longer than that nooooo.  Finally got out of bed at 6:20.  I couldn't believe I wasn't very sore. Cameron slept on the couch/futon in the living room and he was up watching cartoons.  At 8:00 the whole family went for a walk.  I figured if I walked it would help stretch my muscles and keep me feeling good.  We walked to Nick's Mart and back.  We stopped at Times on the way. Bought a few groceries at both places.

Todd went to the grocery store but called us on the way.  He said there was the largest firework show set up in front of the Renaissance Convention Center.  So Cameron and I decided to walk down there to see it.  We ended up taking Alfredo and Alejandro with us.  There were a ton of fire crackers and rockets.  We took pictures and then walked a little ways back towards Warner so we were not right in front of it when it went off.  We have done that once and we all almost went deaf.

We were sitting waiting and had just said we were going to wait for 5 more minutes.  Next thing I saw a SUV decorated with flowers and realized it was the wedding party.  They all turned into the Convention Center and the show began immediately.  WOW, it was 2 minutes and 40 seconds long.  Fire crackers, rockets, and colored bomb things.  Pretty impressive.

Everything red is going to be lit.

Alejandro didn't like the noise.

Lots of colors and smoke.

There was debris everywhere.

Rachel organized a Beach Day...obviously at the beach.  We loaded up the van around 11 and headed out.  It was quite windy at Warner so we weren't sure how long we would be out there.  We found everyone and set up our space.  There were a lot of expats and boy did we cause quite a stir.  The Chinese were having a field day watching all of our kids.  Of course they were taking pictures of them and with them.  Mostly the little ones this time.

The Dad's made their presence known which kept the Chinese
back more than usual.

Alfredo and Cameron were trying to dig holes to America.

This was part of our tribe.

It's not everyday at the beach you have to worry about your
kids being run over by a piece of equipment.

We had a lot of adults keeping kids back.

Alejandro liked the tread marks.

Treat time.

Treat time for Todd and Ileana too.

The kids decided to sit and eat.
Beach soccer anyone?

Mason and Cooper looked so comfy.
Another Fredy photo.

It was sunny and not as windy at the beach.  It was perfect.  About an hour into our beach bash it got cloudy and started to sprinkle.  And it got quite chilly.  People were putting coats and sweatshirts on.  Then it got warmer and it was nice again. A weird weather day but a fun beach day.

On the ride home I was getting very sleepy.  20 minutes after we were home my legs started getting sore.  Walking through the sand did not help my calf muscles.  I'm tough though...I'll survive.
