Tianjin Day

We left at 8:30 to go to Tianjin.  We were going to Metro first to get meat.  We took Alfredo with us so Cameron would have a friend to keep him entertained all day.  We aren't sure what Mr. Xue was doing but he took the world's longest way to get to Metro.  It took an hour and a half.  We have been there several times but it seems each time he takes a new way.  We jumped out of the car and Todd immediately headed back to the meat section.  The boys and I grabbed a cart and headed that way.  We didn't even make it all the way there when we saw Todd coming back at us with a mad face.  He said "It's all gone".  By 10:00 there was no meat left.  Bummer.  Alfredo looked up at me and said "We drove all the way here and you aren't getting anything?"  I told him not to worry.  We would still find something to buy.  Sure enough.

Back in the van.  We went to the Tianjin Zoo.  Mr. Xue dropped us off at a different gate.  This was only our second time visiting but we didn't see this section before.  We walked around looking at the animals.  It was much different going this time of year.  Everything was brown and gross looking.  It made the animal pens look much worse.  All of our favorites were the monkeys.  There were a lot of different cages of them.  Outside there was monkeys and there was this one we called "Sad Face".  The boys were both eating Oreo's and Sad Face came right over and stared at them.  We are pretty sure he wanted a cookie.  Then he was ducking down, back up, down, back up.  He'd go to the door and try to look out at the boys.  The boys were playing the game with him.  This could have lasted all day but we decided to see some other monkeys.

Going into the zoo.  Todd is buying the tickets.

Aren't they cute.

Here come the deer.

This is Sad Face.

How cute is he?

This monkey liked looking at Cameron too.

The next pen of monkeys there were two.  One looked at Cameron, kind of scrunched his face, and then lunged at the glass towards Cameron.  It was funny.  We are pretty sure Cameron wet himself a little.  We went inside next.  All the monkeys were very active.  2 in one pen were showing off for the monkey next door.  The 3 of them climbed, swung, flipped, and played forever.  We were all wishing we were monkey's and could move like they do.  In another pen the boys and I got grossed out.  We were watching the monkeys and one jumped on a piece of wood.  It turned backwards with his booty hanging off the edge.  It started to pee.  2 other monkeys ran over and started drinking the pee.  The look on the boys faces were hilarious.   We spent most of our time at the zoo with the monkeys.  We all loved watching them.  They definitely had the best pens too.  We finished walking around the zoo and then called Mr. Xue to pick us up.

Look at that tongue.  These giraffes did not like the carrots.

Cameron wanted to try and give them an Oreo.
He decided he didn't want to waste one or get licked.
And we thought the boys had big mouths.

Alfredo was trying to text his mom.  He said he is
horrible at it and it takes too long.

We then went to Texas BBQ for lunch.  At the zoo Alfredo told us he likes going out to eat with us because he knows he is going to get meat.  His family eats meat but not like we do.  So when we got to the restaurant we asked Alfredo if he wanted chicken wings again since that is what he had last time.  He said "No, I think I'm going to get something different.  My Mom wouldn't let me get pulled pork last time so I'm going to get pulled pork pizza".  He was excited.  I know he's a little picky so I was hoping he was going to like it.

The boys were bummed when they turned on Mulan but neither could
take their eyes off of it.  Texas BBQ was ready for St. Patrick's Day too.

When the food came he had 6 of the 8 pieces of pizza.  He obviously loved it.  Another great lunch at our favorite place.  We stopped in the grocery store and then jumped back in the van.  Back to TEDA.  The boys immediately were greeted by Ryley, Tobias, and Manuel.  We unloaded the van, headed upstairs, and Cameron immediately went out to play.

When Cameron got inside he asked if Alfredo could spend the night.  Really?  8 1/2 hours together wasn't long enough?  Of course we said yes.  Sent Ileana a message and she said yes.  He came up but then went back downstairs to try and load Words With Friends on his Kindle so they could play.  Finally got it loaded.  They went to Cameron's room and every once in awhile we would hear laughter.  Luckily they are both easily entertained.  They tried to watch a movie but we couldn't get Netflix to work.  They watched some cartoons and then off to bed.
