Pottery

This morning 18 ladies loaded up vans and went to a Pottery Shop outside of Tianjin.  It took about an hour and 15 minutes to get there.  In my van was Me, Ileana, and Rosemary.  We learned a lot about Rosemary's family which was nice.  We got to know her more than we did before.

We finally arrived at the shop and we unloaded.  I'm sure they were a little overwhelmed with all of us ladies invading them.  We went inside the shop and started to look around.  We all really liked these fat chickens they had.  We all really liked them a lot less when the guy told us they were 2000 rmb ($322)  They were worth about $10.  There were some really interesting things in this shop.  There were a few nice things as well.

Jolene was upset by this piece of pottery.  She kept saying
"Jesus was not hatched".

These disgusting animal parts were hanging in the shop.

Outside is where all the big pottery pots were.  I was looking for pots for the decks at home.  There were some nice ones but I am a horrible visual person.  I couldn't decide what would look good.  Plus, I kept hearing Todd in my ear saying 'not that one'.  I knew he would want a say in picking something out so I didn't buy anything. 

Some of the special pottery kept inside.  It just meant
it was more expensive.

We were outside and Ileana and I were beginning to get cold.  We had seen enough and decided to head back to TEDA.  Rosemary had already left with another group to head to the plant market.  Made it back, picked Cameron up from school, hit the veggie market, and home.  Cameron played with the all the kids.  I thought it was cold out but of course none of the kids did.  A little while after he went inside there was a knock at the door.  The Hindman's brought up funnel cake that Carrie had made.  Cameron went right to the kitchen and started eating it.  He said "This is really good".  Obviously since he ate both pieces without taking a breath.

Yum.

A good day despite not buying anything.
