Carrasco, Wallace, Hindman Dinner

The day started off with a run.  So disappointing.  I was suppose to run 4 miles but by the time I got to 3 I felt like dying...literally.  Sometimes 3 miles is so easy and other days it feels like death.  I was not born to be a runner but I will keep trying.  This half marathon is really making me nervous.  Oh, and have I mentioned how much I HATE running?

At 6:30 we went down to Carrasco's for dinner.  They had us and the Hindman's over to thank us for cleaning up their apartment while they were still gone over Christmas.  They did not need to have us over but we were so glad they did.  There is nothing better than real Mexican food.  She made two different kinds of chicken mole... (pronounced molay) green and brown, along with rice, chilacas, and refried beans.  Delicious.

The kids were all playing while the adults chatted.  I asked if the kids wanted to make S'mores.  Of course they all came out running.  I took one look at Ryley and asked if he was feeling ok.  He said he was fine.  Then one of the kids said he was red all over and itchy.  Ryley is allergic to peanuts.  Ileana started trying to figure out what she used but couldn't think of anything.  He was having some kind of reaction though.  Poor kid.  He had some Benadryl and continued to play.

The kids all made S'mores.  They roasted marshmallows over the stove.  They were having a blast and making gooey messes.  Alejandro would only eat the chocolate candy.  I can't believe he will not eat a S'more.  They also ate some cupcakes and Graham Crackers with frosting.  I really know how to bring the sugar to a dinner.

The S'mores are being made.  Yum!

This marshmallow might even be a little too burnt for
Grandpa Casey to eat.

We got home about midnight.  Cameron slept on the couch again.  He thinks it is comfortable.

**Sunday Ileana looked at the sauce she used for the brown mole and it had peanut in it.  She uses two different ones...one with peanut and one without.  She accidentally used the wrong one.  She felt terrible.  Luckily the Hindman's are use to reactions since two out of three kids are allergic to all nuts.
