We walked down to the Shrine which was about a 10 minute walk. We walked through the Shrine and then checked out the little shops. There were also restaurants but Clyde told us to go to Manna's. He said it is clean and safe. We looked at all kinds of seafood and Todd and Cameron decided on huge prawns and spider shells (looked like mini conch shells). We went upstairs for the best seating they told us. It was screened in. About 2 minutes after we sat down it started pouring...hard. The workers worked quickly to drop the plastic over the screens. The rain lasted about 5 minutes. The food came and it did not look good to me. Todd asked the guy how to get the spider shells out and he said just to pull it. They did and a piece of rubbery looking meat came out. Todd ate it no problem but Cameron pulled parts off at a time. He wasn't too impressed. He finally gave it to Todd. They did enjoy the prawns though.

After lunch we walked around some of the shops again looking for a guitar for Cameron. He wanted to buy one and then he wants Ryley to teach him to play. We found a guitar shop with a nice man working. Todd and Cameron checked them out and the guy played a couple different instruments to show the difference. Cameron found one he liked but they decided to look at another shop. That shop had cheaper made guitars for more money. Back to the other shop. Cameron and I looked at t-shirts and bought one while Todd worked his negotiating magic with the guitar guy. We saw Cameron reach for his wallet and a huge smile went over Cameron's face. It was so cute. Next thing we knew Todd was walking towards us with a guitar in a case. We had one happy boy.
These were real frog purses. Gross! |

We jumped in this crazy motorcycle cart thing. We have seen them all over and I wanted to ride in one. We weren't sure how we were all going to fit. The guy put Cameron in first. Then I got in. Todd had to sit on the motorcycle with the guy. We didn't have far to go but it was hilarious. He dropped us right outside our hotel. When Cameron got out he slipped on the curb and fell down. He got mud all over both legs and scrapes on one. The motorcycle guy grabbed a water and cleaned Cameron's legs. Cameron didn't want him to but I told him just to let him. He was trying to be nice. The motorcycle man kept talking to Todd about going on his boat the whole time he was helping Cameron.

We walked across the street to check out a little shop and a Mexican Restaurant. We made dinner reservations for 6:30. We walked outside and motorcycle guy was there again. He talked to Todd about going on his boat again. We finally just kept walking across the street and back to our hotel.
We put our suits on and hit the beach. Todd and Cameron went snorkeling again and I hung out at the pool. Met them back at our cabana. Cameron said they ordered drinks...another smoothie for him. Todd made Cameron a chair in the sand but of course we didn't have the camera. Todd and Cameron worked a little more on their sand castles and then we went to the pool.
After the pool we went back to the room to take a break from the sun. It was a crazy weather day with lots of sun and then brief showers. We all needed a break. We watched the second Bourne movie before heading to the lounge. At 6:15 we walked across the street to a Mexican restaurant. We sat outside and it was a beautiful night. I had steak, Cameron had pizza, and Todd had ribs. Everything was very good.
Yum! |
Back to the hotel. We all put our suits on to go to the pool. Cameron wanted to swim at night. I put my feet in the water and decided I was not getting in. The water felt cold but Cameron said it felt good once you were in. Yeah right. I was chilled sitting on the deck. I had to put my cover up back on. It was at least 75 out still but the breeze was chilly. I am the only one that thought this though.
Back to the room. A little tv and then off to bed.
