Manila Then Cebu Philippines

We were suppose to be gone by 1:40 a.m. However, at 2:10 we started to board. We were delayed because the plane was late getting in but then it took forever to turn the plane around (have it ready to go out again). Finally on and in the air. Cameron fell asleep immediately. My booty and leg fell asleep because he was laying on me.

About half way through the flight Cameron sort of woke up. He moved around and put his foot on the Chinese guy next to him. I grabbed his feet and told him to be careful with his feet. He moved around some more and next thing I knew he was snuggled in on the Chinese guy with his head on his arm. The look on the guys face was hilarious. I immediately grabbed Cameron and said sorry to the guy. I made Cameron switch seats with me so he was in between me and Todd. Cameron was right back to sleep.

At the end of the flight Cameron woke up and looked around. He asked me how he got in my seat. He didn't remember snuggling up to the Chinese guy or switching seats. He was too tired and delirious. He laughed and was a little embarrassed when I told him about the snuggling.

Off the plane and in Manila airport. Confusing. All transfers were given stickers when we checked in in Beijing. Once off the plane all transfers had to go to downstairs. Went through passport control with no problems. We then had to ask where we were suppose to go. The guy said outside and to the left for Cebu. Outside, to the left, up the stairs and then what? We were outside the airport which was nice so we could feel the warm, clean air but not good because we had no clue where to go. Asked another person and he pointed us in the right direction. Through the door back inside the airport. A girl told us lines 1-10 were for Cebu. As we were walking to a line Todd remembered we already had tickets. Back to the lady. She pointed us to the ticket entrance. When we showed our tickets the lady asked when we bought the tickets and if we had the electronic ticket. What? The security guard took our tickets somewhere then came back and said "Beijing". The lady said "oh" and walked around a booth and went inside. We looked and we needed to pay a ticket issue fee. Again...What? Todd had to go get local currency, come back, pay $5 a piece, then our tickets were suddenly good. It was the craziest thing we had ever seen. Through security and at our gate.

Todd and Cameron walked around. The airport wasn't very big. Cameron found a Mister Donut and bought himself a big chocolate donut. Grandma Judy would have been proud. Boarded the plane and an hour later we were in Cebu, Philippines.

Yummy chocolate donut.

Killing time with the Kindle.

We found the Shengri-la lounge where we met a guy who had a car waiting for us. Jumped in the car and 15 minutes later we were walking into Heaven on Earth. We were met by Clyde. Clyde was our personal butler for the week. Anything we needed we called Clyde and he would get it for us. How cool.

Clyde walked us to the lounge where we checked in and were given a drink. We could see our awesome surroundings outside and were excited to get this vacation started. Todd was getting phone calls and he said "who could this be?" He finally answered one of the calls and it was the resort calling him to tell him our room was ready. We had only been in the resort for 10 minutes by this point. Good thing Todd answered. Clyde showed us to our room. It was very nice. We got the run down of the resort and some activities and then Clyde left. A little bit later Todd called Clyde to see if there was a place we could get some beer and Gatorade close by the resort. He said he would take care of it. He came up to get money and then he was off.

Getting our vacation started.

We put our suits on and headed to the beach and pools. Everything is very, very nice. We played some basketball in the pool and Cameron tried the water slide. It was not fun for him. He had put the tube around his waist to go down. The guard on the bottom was waving down the next person but little did he know Cameron had already gone. It was just taking him a long time to get down. When he got to the bottom he said it was lame. It was for smaller kids. Luckily Cameron didn't get stuck in the tube because it was also small. The boys to do some snorkeling.  Nice area for snorkeling.  All kinds of fish. Grabbed our first drink on the beach.

Cameron finally made it to the bottom.

Part of the beach.
Heading out on the first snorkeling trip.

They look professional.

Cameron's first banana smoothie.

Hanging out in the Ocean Wing pool.  Beautiful view.

Back to the room. Clyde had dropped off the stuff for us. We relaxed for about an hour.  Cameron went to the Adventure Zone to see what it was all about.  We then headed to the lounge to see what kind of food they had. We played Farkle and had some good snack food. We could have made a dinner out of it but we had already signed up for a BBQ on the beach. Clyde brought our change back and told us he would have Cameron's bed ready for him. Todd told him it was ok he just needed a sheet and a blanket and he could sleep on the couch. We were thinking they were going to bring in a cot. Clyde then told us there was a Murphy bed. I think I was more excited than Cameron. I had never actually seen one of these.

After we checked in someone dropped this off in the half bathroom.
Cameron looked at it and said "What, do they think I am a baby girl?"
Barbie toothpaste, baby soap = funny.
Taking a break.

Cameron was attacked by Sharkie.

In the Adventure Zone.

This slide was so steep.

The slide ended in a ball pit.

6:00 we went down to the beach for the BBQ. It was a beautiful night to be on the beach for a cook out. We had chicken, pork, and beef skewers along with corn on the cob, veggies, and all kinds of other food I would not eat. Todd about ate the place out of shrimp skewers.

Cameron and one of the dancers.

Ready for dinner.

Cameron waiting for the food to be grilled.
Such a pretty place.

At 7:00 there was a show. It reminded me of something you would see in Hawaii. Lots of girls in hula skirts doing hula dancing. There was also fire dancers. This went on for about an hour. Each of the dancers picked someone out of the crowd to do a dance with them at the end. Cameron got picked by one of the guys. Cameron is a ham like me. He doesn't mind doing fun, silly things.

Fire dancers.

The girls hula hooped with fire.  Ouch.

The guy showed Cameron what they were going to do as girls were dancing. It was Cameron's turn. Him and the guy went to the middle and did their routine. Cameron did awesome. It was so funny watching him shake his booty at the end.

The guy was teaching Cameron what to do.

Show time.

Cameron did great.

Pretty proud of himself when he was finished.

When it was all over Cameron went back to our table to sit down. The Chinese family sitting behind us said what a good job he did. The dad high fived him and then the mom reached clear across the table so she could high five Cameron too. He felt like a star.

We watched the rest of the show and went back up to the room. We were all pretty beat from the late night flight and our first day in the sun. Off to bed. Cameron said his Murphy bed was pretty comfortable.
