Dumb Idea

After doing 20 minutes of kick boxing and 20 minutes of body sculpting I decided to run/walk home. I have a half marathon to die for...I mean train for so I thought today seemed like a great day to start. But before I could leave school I had to put money on Cameron's lunch card. We tried before school but of course no one was in the cafeteria. I went to the cafeteria and could hear people in back but couldn't see anyone. I asked the nice girl who works in the school store next door for help. She came out and shouted something in Chinese. Finally a guy with a big chef hat came out. I told him I wanted to put money on the card. He asked me where the card was. Ummm, with my son in his classroom. He tells me I can't put money on it without the card. I said "we'll, when exactly am I suppose to be able to do that?" Not there before or after school. Hmmm. He told the nice girl to tell me to give the teacher or TA the money and they will put it on his card. What a pain.

I went to Cameron's classroom. I hate disturbing the class but what else was I suppose to do? The class was reading. A little girl walking in yelled "Cameron your mom is here". Seriously? Way to embarrass him little girl. Mr. Singer came over and I told him what I was trying to do and what the guy said. He told me he did not want to deal with money. That's great but I can't blame him. So I had Cameron give me his card. I went back over to the cafeteria. The nice little girl had to help me again. This time she had to go in the back to find someone. Here comes my friend with the big hat.

I handed him the card. He scanned it and said "oh new card" and rolled his eyes. Oh no. All this meant was he had to type in Cameron's name and grade. Finally money on the card. Back to Cameron's class. I put the card in his lunch box and left. It only took 30 minutes to get this all accomplished. There has to be an easier way to add money.

Now it was time to get home. As I started out I thought to myself 'whose stupid idea was this?' It was so windy out and it was a cold wind. I made the turn by the school and it was ok but as I crossed the street and made my way down the LONG road towards home, it was terrible. I wanted to stop and call my driver but decided to plug along.

I made it home and I thought my face was going to fall off. I was cold! Then I just kept getting colder. Ok, that was a bad idea. Not doing that again.

At 3:30 Cameron's new Chinese tutor came over for his first lesson. He asked for a tutor so we got him one. It's so cute to listen to him talk with her. Her name is Britney and she is the same tutor that Carrasco's use. She will come on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 45 minutes. She wanted to come for an hour and Cameron wanted a half hour. So we compromised. Today she basically just talked with him to see what he knows. I was amazed. It was a lot. So proud of him.

Britney and Cameron getting ready to work on Chinese.

Come to find out Britney also is my next door neighbor, Stine's tutor. She has told me some really funny stories about Britney. The funniest was when Britney, all dead serious, was asking Stine what she did in order to get pregnant with twins. Seriously Britney? I'm hoping her and I do not ever have any real conversations.
