Date

At 1:00 I was in Cameron's classroom. They were making Peasant houses to go along with their unit in Social Studies on Medieval Times. Mr. Singer explained it to all the adults and then we waited for the kids. They showed up at 1:25 from P.E. class. I had Cameron, David, and Yoichi in my group. They all worked so hard on their houses. They measured, cut with mitor scissors, and glued with hot glue guns. There were all kinds of glue strings all over the place from the hot glue. The kids were freaking out because of this. They obviously had never used hot glue before. It was funny.

Cutting.

Measuring.

Had to stand up to get a little more leverage.

Gluing it all together.

His finished product.  Check out the little man inside.

At 2:50 we wrapped things up and cleaned up. It was a fun afternoon working in Cameron's classroom.

At 5:00 we walked over to Ashanti to eat with Michelle, Maddy, and Haley. Those two girls were so excited to eat with Cameron. Haley ran up to me after school to tell me she was wearing a sparkly dress and fancy shoes tonight for Cameron. Awwww, how sweet.

I made Cameron change out of his P.E. clothes since I knew the girls would be dressed up. He put on the first pair of jeans I handed him. He got them up but no way was he getting them buttoned or zipped. Next two pairs made it to his waist. The next pair made it to his knees. Man my kid has grown. Finally, the only pair left that we own fit. He put on a collared shirt..."ugh, why do i have to wear this?" and we were out the door.

We walked in and Cameron had to sit by Haley. She had the biggest smile on her face. They made up knock knock jokes, colored, and talked. It was precious. Cameron was so good with the girls. They are 4 and 5 years old and just the sweetest things.

Haley loves her some Cameron.

Maddy, Haley, and Cameron waiting for their dinner.

So precious.

For dessert all the kids had lava cake. At one point Haley took such a big bite that chocolate was all over her face and she could barely chew. It was funny. We had a great time. Liz and Doug, Bob and Pat, Heather and Dave, Jahmy, and Chris were all there too. Ashanti was busy tonight.

We walked home quickly because we needed to Skype with my parents at 7:00. This 14 hour time change makes it much harder to chat. A little tv, read, then bed.

On a side note...Today is October 1st on the lunar calendar. This has a strange meaning to it. Todd told us in harbin (but Chinese people do it all over) there were people on every corner burning fake money so their dead relatives could buy winter clothes. That's what they do. Seriously! They buy fake money from people selling it then burn it. How strange.
