4th of July---Wednesday

Up at 7:00 and got ready.  At 7:30 we all headed outside of my parents house to guard a street so cars couldn't pull out to the main road.  There was a 10K run that goes in front of the house.  They had a singer on the driveway for entertainment.  This was the 30 year anniversary so they had 30 different singers/bands through out the course.  We cheered the runners on but my dad said they were inspiring him to eat a donut.

Grandpa, Cameron, and Grandma guarding the road.

Aren't we cute?

Striking a pose.

Playing his new Skylanders game waiting to leave.

I ran to Kmart to get Cameron a patriotic shirt since he had nothing to wear.  He did have a flag swim suit though.  Back home.  I ran with my dad to drop one of their cars off at the parade route so they could have a great parking spot and could get in it if it got to hot.

My brother picked us all up at 12:15.  We dropped Mom, Dad, and Grace off at the parade.  They are the crazy ones.  It was too hot to sit and watch a boring parade.  Scott, Griffin, Cameron, and I went to the pool.  We hung out with friends of ours:  Jason, Todd, Jeff, and Lee.  Kelly came a little later.  It was fun but hot.

The boys getting a big dose of Vitamin D.

At 3:15 we went back to my parents house.  She has a 4th of July party every year.  Lots of food, drinks, and entertainment by the party guests.  All the kids, along with my mom and brother, got into huge water gun fights.  My mom bought enough of the big squirters so everyone would have one.  The kids had a blast.  There was also water balloons.

The ladies were all close trying to share the shade.

Lots of laughs from this gang.  Me, Jason, Jeff, Todd, Kelly, and Scott.

The middle aged group.

The young ones.

The elders.

Uncle Scott is squishing Cameron.  Griffin is on the other side.

Rose between two thorns.

Everyone was gone around 8:00 except for my family.  Griffin and Cameron did some fireworks.  However, they were the kind that did not require any lighting.  They were things that shot out confetti for the most part.  They had fun and that is all that matters.

The boys getting organized.

Ready to make a mess.

Little poppers that shoot out confetti.

Cameron and Griffin are looking for poppers that didn't pop.

Scott's family left and we cleaned up.  Mom and Cameron were out sweeping the road so none of the stuff blew into her yard.  We got all the tables and chairs put away and then we went inside.  The air conditioning felt great.  Showers and off to bed.

Cleaning up the mess.

Happy Birthday America!!
