Cinco de Mayo

Feliz cinco de mayo! Todd went to work and Cameron did homework then played with Alfredo. I made very exclusive Betty Crocker Mexican muffins for the fiesta. I also stuffed the Chinese piñata with Mexican candy Ileana gave us.

Marvelous Mexican Muffins.

We were having a cinco de mayo picnic. Rachel, Ileana, and I organized it. We figured since Mexicans do not celebrate it we had to make them by doing it the American way in china. We told people to bring their favorite Mexican dishes. There will even be a station to take a photo.  The boys practiced in the apartment.
So cute.

At 1:30 Ileana and I headed over to building A to set tables up and decorate a little. By 2:00 people were showing up ready for a fiesta. Tons of food. Enchiladas, burritos, chips and salsa, and the very popular Mexican chicken from KFC to name just a few. We even had Jose Luis play his guitar and sing with the help of Ileana as a back up singer. He was in a mariachi band in Mexico so it was great. The kids took turns whacking the piñata until it burst and candy flew all over.

Lots of people enjoying the day.

Great buddies.
Love these girls...Me with Ileana and Rachel.
All in our Mexican shirts from Ileana.

Food is all set up and ready to be eaten.

Alejandro loved my Mexican Muffins.

Jolene and Bart, Will and Todd, Anthony from Ashanti with some girl, and Sharla are having fun.

The kids are in line for the pinata.

Trying to get as much candy as possible.

About 6:00 we wrapped it up.  However, some of us weren't ready to call it a night so Sharla, Olivia, Erica, Ileana, Jessica, and all husbands and kids went back to our apartment. We ordered Jacky's pizza and continued the fiesta until about 9:30 when everyone went home.

Jason and Aaron are in a deep conversation while Fredy and Todd watch.

Marcela is hanging out with Sharla, Jessica, Ileana, and Olivia.

Lilah and Mavis getting tired.

Joseph crawled under the couch as I took the picture.  Alejandro is cute as ever.
Cameron looks like there is something wrong with him.  And Alfredo is busy with the game.

Cinco de Mayo should be celebrated like this every year. Tons of fun hanging out with people from various parts of the world. What a great day!
