Fun Friday

Cameron ended up spending the night at Brad's house last night (Thursday).  He had a great time. 

At 9:00 a.m. Carmen, Brad, Ben, Cecilia, Manuel, Melisa, Me, and Cameron met to go to Tianjin to the Water Park.  We all followed each other.  Once there we found the rides.  The kids wanted to ride a swinging boat first.  We bought the tickets and watched the kids ride.  I went over to buy tickets for the next ride they wanted.  Manuel said he didn't want to ride it but then changed his mind.  So Cecilia had to run and get a ticket.  When it was our kids turn to ride the kid working told Cameron and Manuel they were too short.  WHAT?  I walked up there and the line was at 135 cm.  I know Cameron is taller than that.  I made Cameron get back up there and showed the guy he was way over the line.  He said ok to Cameron.  Manuel was barely under the line but he would not let him on.  Manuel burst into tears.  The other kids felt bad.  Cecilia returned the ticket and got her money back.

We bought tickets for the next ride and the kids were waiting in line.  Again they pulled Manuel out and told him he was too short.  Manuel was really upset this time.  Cecilia switched shoes with him in hopes to get him over the line...still too short.  Manuel was very upset and angry.  The girl working finally came over and told Manuel he could ride the ride.  She must have felt bad.  Manuel got himself in control and rode the ride with all the boys.  They had fun.

Next up was bumper cars.  All 4 of the boys jumped in.  They were driving around smashing into each other when all of a sudden Manuel's car wouldn't work anymore.  Again, he was mad.  This was just not his day.  Poor Kid.  The other boys wanted to ride the cars again but Manuel wouldn't.  He went with his mom and Melisa to ride something else. Unfortunately, all the rides were shut down for lunch.

We all hooked back up and ate lunch.  Cameron had a huge sandwich.  The bread he picked at the store was more like bread you would use to make french toast.  It was the thickest sandwich we had ever seen.  After lunch we went to drive boats.  We got down on the dock and one Chinese guy told us "to dangerous".  Huh?  We didn't understand.  The rental place was closed but there were boats out on the water.  We found someone else and they told us it was closed because it was too windy.  Bummer.

We walked back up and found a spray ground.  Next thing I knew the 3 other boys were in the water.  Cameron had a sad look on his face.  I told him to take his shoes off and join in.  He was thrilled.  These 4 boys had a blast in the water.  We caused a huge scene too.  There were tons of people watching these crazy foreigners playing in the water.  They were taking videos and pictures and cracking up laughing at our kids.  They played for about an hour.

Next up was an ice cream treat.  We walked back into the park and found a stand.  It actually had an ice cream machine.  Everybody got what they wanted and we found a bench to sit and enjoy it.  Unfortunately it wasn't very good.  The ice cream had a weird taste.  Most of the kids didn't care.

We loaded up the vans and headed back to TEDA.  On the way back Carmen called me to see if Cameron wanted to go to the Sheraton to go swimming with them.  Of course he said yes.  We continued our way home and Cameron fell asleep in the back seat.  He has had a long couple of days.  Once home they picked him back up and they returned about an hour later.  He had fun but he was tired.

We had dinner and then watched Terminator 2.  Cameron and I watched Terminator on Thursday since Todd had already seen it.  Cameron can't believe how bad the effects were.  I tried telling him the movie was old.  Funny that he notices all this stuff.  Off to bed.
