52 Weeks=One Year In China

One year ago today we walked into our our new "home" in TEDA, China.  It is hard to believe how fast this year has gone.  As we look back over the year we have so many things to be thankful for:  the friends, the experiences, the travel, the laughter, the parties, etc.  Each one has touched us in a special way.

We could not do this expat assignment without all the wonderful people living here.  Everyone helps each other out.  If I can't find something or need help I know all I have to do is make a call or send a text and I can find someone who can help.  This community is outstanding.  Moving here I had fears of being alone and not having anything thing to do.  But there are over 40 families with our company and 20 more families with other companies so this is one BIG Family.  I can truly say I love this place and this is not a hard gig.  Of course we miss our family and friends back home but this assignment will be over soon and we will be back home with them.

We started the day off with Sharla and I working out and Cameron having Alfredo up to play.  Cameron went to Chinese class and we ran to the store.  As soon as we got home Alfredo came back up to play.  The Carrasco's were leaving for Mexico so the kids were sad they won't see each other for awhile.  They were trying to sneak in every possible minute together.

NOOOO, DON'T LEAVE!!

Todd and Dan picked Cameron and I up at 2:30.  We drove to Tianjin and dropped Dan off at the Tianjin Airport so he could go to Harbin.  We drove around Wu Da Dao Street but it was nothing special.  We then went to Jin Wan Plaza.  It was very windy.  We went to 1309 which is a German Restaurant for dinner.  As it turned out it was pretty cruddy.  The beer was warm, took forever to get our pretzel rolls, dinner took forever too, and then it wasn't even very tasty.  After 2 hours we finally were walking out of the restaurant and finding the van.  Back home to TEDA.

Cameron wanted some ice cream.
Waiting for dinner.

Cheers to one year.

Ribs.  They weren't to tasty after all.

Skyped with Grandma and Grandpa and then headed to bed.
